activity DESCRIPTION
The Burnout Competition is a single car event. Drivers are selected at random and will enter the burn out pad and attempt to handle their cars in such a manner as to spin its drive wheels to produce smoke for a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 90 seconds.
Upon entering the burn out pad an easy release band will be tied to the driver’s wrist and held by referees to notify driver of the 30 second mark as well as the 90 second mark. This is done because visibility can be impaired and visual signals may be missed.
A green flag will be dropped to signal the start of a driver’s burn out. At 30 seconds the easy release wrist band will be tugged to signal the 30 second mark. A red flag as well as multiple tugs on the wrist band signals the end of the driver’s run and the driver is required to shut down immediately - a red flashing light may replace or act in conjunction with the red flag.
