Drag Races

During the Rally there will be NMRA Drag Races on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Open to all Mustang registered in the Rally. Saturday evening will be for Registered Sturgis Mustang Street Class cars "bracket race" only.

Requirements: NMRA Drag Races. NMRA and NHRA rules apply, open to all registered Mustangs. Track has small fee to participate in these events.

Requirements: Saturday evening Mustang Street Class. Open only to Sturgis Mustang Rally participants. (street cars only) Must provide valid driver's license, registration, and Rally number on window. Helmets for everyone in the car. Some loaner helmets are available. Steet tires and DOT approved drag radials only. No slicks. Track has small fee to participate in this event, paid on entering the track. New comer's, we have professional drag racers to instruct and ride with you. Just ask.

Drivers will be allowed up to 3 practice runs to determine their bracket. It does not matter if your car is 6 or 8 cylinder, stick or auto. Consistency will win the race.
Try it you’ll like it.
This will be an elimination event. The loser of each race will be eliminated; Winner will race again till we have 16 cars left. These cars (Sweet 16) will receive an award and cash prize, they may bet 50% or 100% of that cash prize on the next race or keep it. The winners of that (Sweet 16) race, 8 cars move on.
The (Elite 8) will receive an additional cash prize and bet (if made). The winners
of the (Elite 8) race, 4 cars move on.
The (Fantastic 4) will receive an additional cash prize and bet (if made). The winners
of (Fantastic 4) race 2 cars move on.
The (Dynamic Duo) 2 cars left now may bet their winnings or keep it. We now enter the finals, This race is 3 out of 5 hot laps to determine  1st and 2nd place.
2nd place will receive a Trophy and 2nd place Cash Prize
1st place will receive a Trophy and 1st place Cash prize
